10 Jul Terminal Launch Event
The launch of the Turkish Airlines Terminal (technology, innovation and startup platform) was successfully held on Monday, July 6, 2020. It was broadcasted live on Turkish Airlines Youtube account. The event started with the opening speeches of Turkish Airlines EVP, Chief Information and Transformation Officer Ali Serdar Yakut, Chairman of Turkish Airlines Board M. İlker Aycı and Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of Republic of Turkey Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
Then, Turkish Airlines SVP, Digital Innovation and Analytics Solutions Serdar Gürbüz promoted the Terminal Platform.
The event proceeded with three panels held in different focus areas. In the first panel, Turkish Airlines SVP, Digital Innovation and Analytics Solutions Serdar Gürbüz, Turkish Airlines SVP, Cargo Business Development & Organization Adnan Karaismailoğlu, Turkish Airlines SVP, Marketing Arif Ali Gezmişoğlu, Turkish Airlines SVP, Corporate Marketing and Distribution Channels Mert Dorman and AnadoluJet SVP, Regional Flights Şamil Karakaş answered questions about “Digital Transformation in Aviation and New Business Models”.
Second panel “Post Pandemic Predictions for Turkey Startup Ecosystem” took place with the participation of egirişim founder Hilmi Öğütcü, Türk Telekom Chief Strategy and Digital Officer Barış Karakullukçu, Revo Capital Co-Founder Cenk Bayrakdar, startups.watch Founder Serkan Ünsal and Hackquarters Founder Kaan Akın.
The last panel “Through the Eyes of Startups: Experiences with Corporates” took place with the participation of Turkish Airlines Digital Business Development Manager M. Seyda Tartar, SOR’UN Co-Founder Oğuzhan Başeğmez and inMapper Co-Founder Sarp Tomrukçu.
After the panels, Turkish Airlines Digital Business Development Team Leader Mehmet Emin Sandıklı announced the first ecosystem call of the Terminal Startup Program “Innovative Products and Services in Aviation for Post Pandemic”.
Innovative Products and Services in Aviation for Post Pandemic program; It is crucial to respond promptly to the problems and the new expectations brought by the recent global Covid19 pandemic for the aviation industry. We launch our first Ecosystem call from the Terminal for the challenges that need to be overcome at the different stages of the air travel to provide our passengers with an exceptional, powerful, stress-free and delighted travel experience.
The startups will apply to the “Post Pandemic Innovative Products and Services in Aviation” call via the Terminal website between July 6th-24th. After the evaluation, selected startups will be invited to the Airpitch Days, face-to-face meetings. Successful startups that stand out with their product, business model and partnership potential will be accepted to the Terminal Startup Program and will start to benefit from it.
